Purified Speech, Inner Governor

Zechariah 9:7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Zechariah 9 in context

Scripture Focus

7And I will take away his blood out of his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth: but he that remaineth, even he, shall be for our God, and he shall be as a governor in Judah, and Ekron as a Jebusite.
Zechariah 9:7

Biblical Context

Zechariah 9:7 speaks of cleansing the mouth from blood and removing abominations. Those who remain are given to God and become inner governors.

Neville's Inner Vision

Zechariah’s line comes as an invitation to the inner life, not a history lesson. The blood in the mouth and the abominations between the teeth are images of thoughts and words that have outlived their usefulness in your present I AM awareness. When you rest in the I AM, these signs lose their hold, and the clean state of your consciousness is restored. The one who remains is not merely surviving hardship but being made for our God; he becomes a governor in Judah—the inner realm where your decisions, feelings, and speech are guided by holiness. Ekron as a Jebusite points to former adversaries of the mind who can be transformed into trusted stewards when you stop resisting and begin aligning all things with love and truth. This is salvation as a change in your inner climate, a redemption of motive and word. The removal of blood and abomination is the simple act of turning toward God in awareness; the rest follows as your imagination refuses to accept limitation and asserts the I AM as ruler. Within this inner empire, you reign by fidelity, peace, and discernment.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Assume the I AM now rules your inner Judah. Revise a recent harsh word into a blessing and feel it real.
