Biblical Context
Zechariah 8:6-8 proclaims that the LORD will save His people from east and west and bring them into the heart of Jerusalem, where they become His people and He their God in truth and righteousness. This is an inner restoration, not a distant event.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within this passage the remnant is your inner I AM—the steadfast state of consciousness you refuse to abandon. When Zechariah asks whether what the remnant sees as marvelous would be marvelous to God, the answer is: what you marvel at in you is already God's doing in you. The east and the west are the poles of your mind, the thoughts that pull you toward fear and toward faith. God promises to save from all directions, which means no mental region is outside the reach of your true self. 'Jerusalem' is the inner city of awareness where covenant is kept; when you dwell there, you are not merely observing salvation but living it as truth and righteousness. The covenant is not an external contract but a claim of your own I AM, a recognition that you and God are one within your consciousness. The marvelous is already present in your present awareness; you need only align with it by an inner decree that you are saved, and that you are God’s people.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine a circle of light encircling you from east to west, sealing your inner Jerusalem. Repeat softly, 'I am saved now; I and God are one in truth and righteousness.'
