9Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother:
10And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.
Zechariah 7:9-10

Biblical Context

The passage calls for practicing true justice and mercy toward others and forbids oppressing the needy, while keeping the heart free from evil thoughts.

Neville's Inner Vision

Zechariah speaks as the LORD of hosts, which is the I AM within you. The command to execute true judgment and to show mercy is a summons to align your inner state with perfect justice: to see the brother in all and treat him with compassion. When you oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, nor the stranger, nor the poor, you are not neglecting parts of your own consciousness but inviting them into wholeness. And when you imagine evil against your brother in your heart, you reveal a split you must heal. The move is inward: assume the stable state of justice joined with mercy, and feel it real until it dominates your sense of self. Revise every hostile image until you rest in the truth that you are one with that merciful, just order.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, picture your community as one family, and affirm I am the just judge and merciful heart. Feel it real by revising any hostile image into compassionate possibility.
