Quieting the Spirit Within

Zechariah 6:8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Zechariah 6 in context

Scripture Focus

8Then cried he upon me, and spake unto me, saying, Behold, these that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country.
Zechariah 6:8

Biblical Context

The verse says that moving toward the north has quieted God's Spirit in that land.

Neville's Inner Vision

North is the outward pull of the mind—the chase for position, opinion, or external power. When attention travels there, the inner Spirit grows quiet, as if the I AM within lowers its voice to accommodate a belief in distance. Zechariah's note is a mental image, not geography: you may roam toward north in imagination and still be far from your true self. Yet the I AM is constant, and the quieting marks a temporary effect of separation. The remedy is to re-anchor in the one Life active in you: the awareness that you are the I AM, unshaken by outward movements. Return your focus to the inner king, feel the Spirit awake now, and watch conditions align with that inner state. When you shift from chasing northern images to abiding in consciousness, outward circumstances reflect your inner fidelity and you experience a true return—exile ends as you realize you never left your own center.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the feeling of the I AM within you; revise the belief that outward north has power over you by silently affirming, 'I am the Spirit that cannot be moved.'
