Not By Might, But By Spirit

Scripture Focus

6Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
Zechariah 4:6

Biblical Context

The verse says Zerubbabel's rebuilding is accomplished by God's Spirit, not by human might or power. It invites trust in the inner divine presence over external means.

Neville's Inner Vision

All arguments of force and technique fade when you hear the inner commission: not by your hands, not by the weight of this world, but by the Spirit within you that I am, right now. When Zerubbabel is told that the word is not by might or power, but by Spirit, you are being told of your own inner architecture. The 'Might' and 'Power' you plead for are manifestations of ego-centered effort, while Spirit is the quiet, unseen assurance that your imagination, rightly stewarded, becomes reality. The temple you seek to build is the sanctuary of your inward state—a stable, attentive consciousness that recognizes itself as the I AM. Therefore, stop measuring your strength by external signs; instead align with the Spirit's energy and say: I AM this Spirit. In that alignment, the walls of limitation dissolve, and the provision of Providence flows through you as inner certainty, gliding into outward form. You are not the doer alone; you are the vessel through which Spirit moves.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, close your eyes, and declare I AM the Spirit within me; not by might but by Spirit moves this through me. Visualize your goal as already complete and feel the inner certainty as real.
