Biblical Context
Zerubbabel's vision shows a gold lampstand with seven lamps fed by an eternal Spirit, watched over by two olive trees. It declares that true accomplishment comes not by might or power, but by the Spirit within.
Neville's Inner Vision
This vision is not about a distant temple, but about your inner awakening. The candlestick represents your consciousness—golden, whole, prepared to shed light. The bowl at the top is the I AM that holds the flame; the seven lamps are your seven faculties—memory, imagination, perception, will, feeling, speech, and understanding—each having its own portion of light. The two olive trees standing by it symbolize the two streams of supply that feed the light: imagination and faith in the divine Presence. The question 'What seest thou?' is your inner prompt to examine your state of consciousness. The answer 'Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit' spoken within. The Spirit within you is the true source of energy and form; external circumstances bend to this inner decree. You awaken from sleep to the realization that the light is always present, waiting to be turned on by your I AM. When you presume that the Spirit is in you and through you, your world rearranges to match the illumination you hold.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, place attention on the heart-area and repeat Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit while picturing the lampstand luminous and the two olive trees feeding it. Do this for five minutes, and keep the sense that your I AM is the source of light in every situation.
