Zechariah 14:1-2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Zechariah 14 in context

Scripture Focus

1Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
2For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
Zechariah 14:1-2

Biblical Context

Zechariah 14:1-2 speaks of a day when the LORD acts in judgment and Jerusalem is divided, with houses plundered and many taken captive. Yet a remnant remains in the city.

Neville's Inner Vision

I am the I AM, and the day of the LORD that Zechariah sees is the awakening of my own consciousness. Jerusalem is the center of my awareness, the place where I decide what I will accept as real. When I feel the push of the nations gathering, I am simply noticing the clamor of thoughts that contest my peace. The city being taken and the spoils divided are the letting go of old stories about lack and safety; the half that goes into captivity is half of my old identity released, while the residue that remains is the essential I that keeps its presence intact. This is not punishment but invitation: revise the scene in imagination until the upheaval yields a new foundation. I choose to remain resident in the inner Jerusalem, sovereign and free, knowing that the power to rebuild lies in my awareness and my willingness to believe what I intend to experience.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and revise one limiting belief by declaring, 'The day of the LORD is now; I am the I AM in control of my life.' Then feel the truth of that power as you rest in it for a few breaths.
