Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
God promises grace poured out and a turning of the heart toward the pierced one. The verse invites inner recognition and a deep, corrective mourning that opens the way to reconciliation.
Neville's Inner Vision
Behold Zechariah’s promise as a statement about your own inner weather. The I that speaks in you is the I AM, the awareness that witnesses both sorrow and fear. When he says I will pour out the spirit of grace and supplications, he is describing a change of state, a shift of attention from lack to openness. The piercing is not a distant event in history; it is your own mind recognizing the belief you have kept about yourself that wounded you—an old self image you believed in, a grievance you held against life. As you look within and acknowledge that belief, you mourn it as you would mourn a beloved son, allowing the heart to soften and release the charge attached to that image. In that great mourning there is mercy arriving, because the eye that looked with separation discovers unity. The day Zechariah names is the moment you awaken to your present power to redefine reality by choosing grace, by appealing to the I AM who feels for you and through you.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly and assume the feeling of grace now. Visualize the mind bathed in light and the piercing belief dissolving as you declare I AM, and grace pours through me.
