Biblical Context
Zechariah 10:5 portrays the people as mighty because the LORD is with them; they overcome enemies in the streets, and external powers become confounded.
Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed through the I AM, this line declares that the most powerful forces you face are not armies outside, but states inside your own consciousness. The 'mire in the streets' is the sticky attestations of doubt, fear, and habit, the clinging habits of limitation. Yet when you acknowledge the LORD with you, you align your inner weather to a victorious atmosphere. The riders on horses—pride, striking appearances of force—are confounded by the quiet certainty that God, your I AM, is present. You do not fight by fighting; you assume the posture of the conqueror, and the world follows the march of your inner conviction. The verse in effect says: you are not subject to the external world; the external world is a reflection of your inner state. When you dwell in the awareness that the I AM stands with you, the imagined enemy collapses, and the battle becomes a demonstration of inner power, not a struggle. Practice the assumption: I am the mighty man, for the I AM is with me.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes; assume the state: I am the mighty man because the I AM is with me, and feel victory as you walk through the 'mire' of daily life. If doubt arises, revise it with 'The I AM within me conquers now.'
