Inner Return, Great Turning
Zechariah 1:3-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
God invites the people to turn toward Him, promising a reciprocal turning from the divine. They are warned not to imitate their ancestors who did not heed the old cries of the prophets, for those paths did not endure.
Neville's Inner Vision
In this moment the voice of Zechariah speaks to your consciousness. Turn unto me and I will turn unto you means you shift your focus from outer concerns to the I AM within. The fathers and the former prophets are not distant persons; they are past states of consciousness that once seemed authoritative but no longer govern your life. When you hear their cries, you are reminded that you now stand in the living presence that endures. To repent in Neville's sense is not guilt but a reorientation, a revision of your inner stance that reaffirms the truth of your being. Your awareness is the living covenant; as you align with that inner reality, the outer circumstances begin to rearrange to reflect your renewed state. The promise that I will turn toward you is the recognition that you hold the power to shape your life by choosing a new inner state. The memory of old disobedience dissolves as your present attention becomes the throne of inner life, and God, your I AM, turns toward you as you awaken to the living Self within. This renewed alignment is the covenant renewed within your own feeling of being.
Practice This Now
Assume the state of being utterly turned toward the I AM within you. In a moment of quiet, say, I turn to God now, and God turns to me, and feel the inner space widen as awareness welcomes you home.
