The verse asserts a true witness and instructs rebuking sharply so others may be sound in faith.
Neville's Inner Vision
See this line as the inner standard by which you judge your own states. This witness is true, not about people outside, but about the reality of your awareness now. When you treat that witness as alive and authoritative, the next line—rebuke them sharply—becomes a method of inner correction. The sharpness is not judgment of the person, but a decisive turning away from thoughts that deny faith. You compel the mind to align with the truth you have accepted in imagination: that you are the I AM, the one consciousness in which all faith endures. To rebuke is to interrupt imagination that feeds doubt, to replace it with consistent images of health, fidelity and trust. In this way, faith ceases to be a concept and becomes an experienced state. As you practice this internally, you will notice your feelings, choices, and surroundings increasingly reflect a faithful, sound mind. The verse thus teaches disciplined inner talk, clear correction, and the silent but powerful conversion of perception into reality through imagined certainty.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and say to yourself: 'This witness is true; I rebuke every thought that contradicts faith,' and feel the correction settling as a present reality within.
