Biblical Context
The verse presents the beloved as a unique, undefiled soul, the one and only, worthy of praise. It points to purity and inner dignity as gifts of inner life.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of the dove as your I AM—your indivisible awareness that you are God’s own expression. The words, 'my dove, my undefiled is but one,' declare that your true self is singular and pristine, not scattered by doubt or compromise. When the mother, the source of life, is referenced, understand that you are the one chosen to bear that light—the inner state that cannot be divided. The daughters, queens, and concubines who see and bless her are not external spectators but the attention of your own mind responding to its own recognition. As you dwell in this state, assume the feeling that you are already celebrated, that purity is your natural condition, and that holiness is your ordinary presence. The law of assumption teaches that imagination creates reality; thus the inner vision of a pure, undefiled self flows outward as harmony, praise, and integrity in form. You become the image the world blesses because you have blessed your own awareness with unshakable purity. Your inner dove is not under attack; it is your true I AM, forever intact.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes, assume the feeling of being the undefiled one—the sole reflection of Life within you. Dwell for a few minutes in 'I am' and see the inner dove being praised by the inner chorus; affirm, I am the pure I AM, and let it feel real.
