Read Song of Solomon 6 in context

Scripture Focus

5Turn away thine eyes from me, for they have overcome me: thy hair is as a flock of goats that appear from Gilead.
6Thy teeth are as a flock of sheep which go up from the washing, whereof every one beareth twins, and there is not one barren among them.
7As a piece of a pomegranate are thy temples within thy locks.
Song of Solomon 6:5-7

Biblical Context

The verses describe the beloved’s beauty with rich imagery; the lines signal that inner abundance and vitality are present in consciousness rather than in external appearance.

Neville's Inner Vision

Turn away thine eyes from me is not a command to deny another, but a cue to shift your attention from outer form to inner perception. The eye is the instrument of consciousness; dwelling on appearances sustains a sense of separation. The hair, described as a flock of goats from Gilead, becomes the symbol of living supply arising from the hills of your awareness—energy that can be drawn forth at will. The line on teeth, a flock of sheep that go up from the washing, where every one bears twins and none is barren, signals the creative acts of your mind when refreshed by renewal: thoughts and images that reproduce more of themselves, fertile and fruitful. The temples within thy locks, likened to a piece of a pomegranate, reveal an inner orchard seeded with ideas ready to ripen into experience. If you own that all beauty and abundance reside in your I AM, you cease chasing forms outside and permit the inner vision to govern. The beloved becomes a vivid sign of your own perfection realized here and now.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and assume, 'I AM the abundant life; my inner vision now manifests as outer form.' Stay with the feeling until it feels real.
