Song of Solomon 1:4-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The speaker longs to be drawn into the king's presence and to revel in love. She also confesses a dark self-image and notes neglect of her own inner vineyard under others' demands.
Neville's Inner Vision
Draw me is the I AM beckoning the mind into its own royal chambers. The king represents the indwelling God-sense, inviting the soul into the sanctuary of consciousness where imagination becomes reality. To remember thy love more than wine is to fix attention on the felt experience of divine affection until it outshines every earthly pleasure. I am black, but comely signals that your present self-image is colored by sun and circumstance, yet you remain lovely when seen by the light of consciousness; the 'daughters of Jerusalem' are external judgments, the sun is worldly exposure, and 'look not upon me' becomes turning inward to the divine light. The vineyard imagery points to neglected inner life; others’ claims may govern you, but your own inner vineyard awaits attention. The healing is simple: acknowledge you are already where the king dwells, and allow your inner vineyard to yield as you rest in the truth of your divine nature.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and declare, I am the I AM; I draw myself into the king's chambers of consciousness now; I tend my inner vineyard with love, letting divine affection restore my sense of self.
