Obed and Inner Kingship
Ruth 4:17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Biblical Context
Women in the town declare the newborn and name him Obed, saying Naomi has a son. This Obed becomes the father of Jesse and the grandfather of David.
Neville's Inner Vision
Truth in Ruth 4:17, through the Neville lens, is the awakening of a new state of consciousness. The naming by the neighbors is not about an outward child alone, but about an inner birth—Obed—born unto Naomi, the mother-state of my mind. Naomi represents the old identity that has walked through loss and hunger, and Obed is the inner son now realized, the birth of a servile "inner servant" to the I AM. When we acknowledge Obed, we acknowledge a seed of kingship growing in consciousness. Obed's role as the father of Jesse and David signals that this inner seed will reproduce leadership and authority in earthly experience: a lineage of ruling perception, not of blood but of belief. The verse teaches that the kingdom of God originates within; a new state of awareness is named, named by witnesses of the inner self, and then begins to form the lineages we call life. So the practical takeaway is: claim the inner Obed as yours, let the I AM recognize him, and watch your outer world shift to reflect a stronger, wiser rule.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Assume Obed is born in your consciousness now; hear the inner witnesses naming him, and dwell in the sense of a kingly state already established.
