Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Boaz extends protection and provision to Ruth, inviting her to stay close and drink from the vessels. The scene ends with the LORD's blessing upon Ruth's faithful work.
Neville's Inner Vision
In this passage Ruth arrives at your inner field as the faithful state, a demand and a response. Boaz represents the inner will—the kinsman-redeemer who guards your ground and says, stay here by my maidens; keep your gaze on what is being reaped. When Ruth asks why she has found grace, the answer is not distant history but your own inner awakening: you have left behind the old attachments and come to trust the God of Israel—the Lord in whose wings you now take refuge. The line The LORD recompense thy work is the law of inner Providence: every faithful act you have performed in alignment with your true nature is being repaid by the I AM, here and now. You bow in reverence because you recognize that grace is not earned but realized by your readiness to stay aligned. So your present experience becomes a field where your intention yields fruit and protection; under whose wings you trust, you rest in the certainty that your conscious states reproduce themselves as your outward conditions.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the scene: you are Ruth, securely kept in your inner field by the master's protection. Feel gratitude, envision the cups filled, and declare that the LORD recompenses your faithful work as your present reality.
