Return by Divine Visitation
Ruth 1:6-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ruth 1 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Naomi rises with her daughters-in-law to return from Moab after hearing that the LORD has visited His people and given them bread; they set out toward the land of Judah.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of Ruth's rising as a movement in your own consciousness. Moab represents a drift or lack, while bread signifies inner nourishment that your I AM already provides. When you read that the LORD visited His people and gave them bread, receive it as a present fact in your inner economy—divine visitation here and now. Ruth, Naomi, and the others begin a return to Judah, the land within, where your true self resides in alignment with law. The two daughters-in-law symbolize inner attitudes: one clinging to fear, the other choosing the path of return. You choose to move back into your inner Judah, the I AM state that sustains you. Providence becomes intimate and immediate; faith and trust awaken as you act from inner reality rather than outward appearances. Your future opens not by waiting for circumstances to change, but by recognizing and dwelling in the divine presence that already feeds you.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume you are already in the land of Judah; feel the bread in your hands and affirm, 'I am supplied by divine visitation.' Then step forward from this inner certainty.
