The Inner Burden Of Love

Romans 9:2-3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Romans 9 in context

Scripture Focus

2That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.
3For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
Romans 9:2-3

Biblical Context

Paul speaks of great heaviness and continual sorrow for his kinsmen. He would even wish himself accursed for their sake.

Neville's Inner Vision

Disappear into the feeling that you are not divided from your brethren, that the sorrow you sense is the signal of a longing for oneness within your own I AM. In this inner scene, the ‘heaviness’ is not a curse to be endured but a signal of your infinite capacity to care. The self that would be accursed for others is the very self who can imagine them already saved, already healed, already one with you in spirit. When you permit this inner state to persist, you release the sense of separation; you revise the reaction by affirming, I am the I AM in whom all are embraced. Your imagination is not external; it is your own awareness unfolding into form. The crucifixion you fear becomes an inner alignment, a surrender of a false self that stands apart from others. The moment you dwell in that unity, your longing becomes a creative act, drawing others into your healed consciousness.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled—see yourself already united with your brethren, their sorrow transmuted by your awareness. Feel it real in the I AM and carry that unity into your day.
