Romans 8:35-37 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Romans 8 in context

Scripture Focus

35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Romans 8:35-37

Biblical Context

Romans 8:35-37 asks who can separate us from the love of Christ; despite tribulation and distress, we are more than conquerors through the one who loves us.

Neville's Inner Vision

Romans 8:35-37 reveals that the real battle is within the mind's state, not against flesh. The 'love of Christ' is the I AM you are—your enduring awareness that can never be dissolved by tribulation, distress, or peril. These external conditions are happenings in the world of appearance, while your inner consequence is a certainty: you are loved, and love is your true identity. To be 'more than conquerors' is to know that separation never occurred; it was a mere thought your attention wandered from. Conquerors in this sense are those who settle into the realization that the loving state is permanent, and all events are but movements choreographed by your inner decision to remain as this loving I AM. When doubt arises, use the hint of the verse to revise: I am loved, and love is my ground. Through the love I am, I overcome all appearances, not by fighting, but by reclaiming the I AM as my reality.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly, close eyes, place a hand on your heart, and assume: I am loved. Feel the warmth of that love filling your chest and rest in it for a few minutes, letting the world reflect this inner victory.
