Deliverance From The Body
Romans 7:24 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Romans 7:24 voices a sense of wretchedness over the old self, asking who can deliver me from the power of habitual thought. It points to the longing for liberation from the 'body of this death.'
Neville's Inner Vision
See the cry as a moment when the old consciousness interrupts the stream of awareness. The 'wretched man' is not a condemned person, but the worn-out costume of a mind that has forgotten its true nature. The body of death is the cumulative pattern of fear, guilt, and weakness that the ego clings to. The question 'who shall deliver me?' is the recognition that the old state cannot save itself; the only deliverer is the I AM within—God in you, the unchanging awareness that presences as your life. To experience deliverance, you do not seek outside but turn inside and assume the reality of your new state. Think, feel, and dwell as the man who is already free; imagine the old self dissolving into light as you declare, 'I AM,' and rest in the certainty that this present state is your true self. By revision and sustained feeling-now, you annihilate the power of the old body and awaken a life governed by grace. The cry is transformed into joyful gratitude as you recognize your true nature as the I AM and live from that.
Practice This Now
Practice: Assume the feeling of your freedom now. Close your eyes, declare 'I AM delivers me,' and envision stepping out of the tomb-like body into a bright, spacious self.
