Inner Death to Sin

Romans 6:2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Romans 6 in context

Scripture Focus

2God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Romans 6:2

Biblical Context

Romans 6:2 says believers are dead to sin and cannot continue living in it; the old life is over and a new awareness begins.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the quiet of your awareness, view sin not as a deed but as a belief about who you are. Being dead to sin means the self that used to identify with sin has died in your consciousness, and you now live as the I AM—pure awareness. You cannot inhabit two states; to live in sin would be to deny your birth as a new creature. The question 'How shall we... live therein?' dissolves when you recognize you are the consciousness that cannot be bound by that old script. Your obedience is the natural movement of a mind aligned with holiness and liberation, not a forced moral effort. By dwelling in the I AM and imagining yourself already free, you liberate yourself from former patterns and restore the unity of your life with divine life.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, touch your chest, and declare: 'I am the I AM; I died to sin, and I now live in holiness.'
