Romans 6:17 thanks God that believers were once under sin, but have since obeyed from the heart the form of doctrine delivered to them.
Neville's Inner Vision
Consider that 'the form of doctrine' is a pattern impressed upon your consciousness, an inner blueprint you now align with. The so-called 'servants of sin' are only memories of a previous state of awareness, not your present truth. When you say 'ye have obeyed from the heart,' you are not performing outward obedience; you are consenting at the center of your being to a truth you already know in imagination. The gratitude in the verse is not for past history but for the turning of your attention inward—acknowledging that the I AM has delivered you into the harmony of that doctrine. As you dwell in that recognition, you practice the art Neville teaches: assume the end, revise the image, feel it real now. If doubt arises, revise the inner scene so that the form of doctrine is the fabric of your inner life, not a distant promise. In this inner obedience, you are freed from the old state and live as the truth you have already obeyed from the heart.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, rest in the I AM, and silently assume: I have obeyed from the heart to the form of doctrine; feel this obedience as my present reality.
