Alive Through Imagination

Romans 6:11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Romans 6 in context

Scripture Focus

11Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:11

Biblical Context

Paul invites you to see yourself as dead to sin and living for God through Jesus.

Neville's Inner Vision

Do you see that the verse asks you to shift your inner state, not to fight sin with willpower? I tell you: reckon yourself dead indeed to sin, and alive unto God through Jesus Christ, not as an event outside you, but as a state you now inhabit. In the Neville sense, God is your I AM, the awareness that never ceases. When you close your eyes and assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled—the feeling of being dead to sin and alive to God—the external symptoms bow to the inner truth. Sin loses its power when it is witnessed as a belief in a reality you no longer entertain. Jesus is the door through which your true nature awakens; through that door, the new life enters, and your days are spent in grace, deliverance, and freedom. Persist in the assumption, revise any contrary image, and let the inner movement complete the transformation. You are now the living proof of Romans 6:11 in action.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit in stillness, repeat the affirmation I am dead to sin, alive to God through Christ, and feel the I AM saturating every thought until the state feels real.
