Inner Law and Imputed Sin
Romans 5:13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Romans 5 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse says sin existed before the law. It also asserts that without a defined law, sin is not imputed.
Neville's Inner Vision
Until you lay hold of the I AM as your sole law, the world presents a 'sin' you imagine and name. Sin, in this reading, is not a cosmic sentence but a sign of your belief in separation from the One Presence. When you awaken to the I AM within, the so-called law dissolves into a reminder that you are already complete. The verse does not condemn you; it exposes the only imputation that matters: the thought you entertain about your own guilt. If you insist on being governed by a statute of judgment, you will live under that statute. But if you revise your inner rule to 'There is no law but God’s I AM,' you reverse the imputation and invite grace to rearrange your scene. Practice is to feel this revision until it becomes your habitual sense of self. Imagine your daily world responding to the new inner assumption: health, freedom, and a peaceful will guided by I AM rather than fear. The pre-law era of Romans 5:13 becomes your present moment invitation to stand in the full presence of the I AM now.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Assume the feeling, 'There is no law condemning me in this moment; I am the I AM here and now.' Rest in that awareness for a minute and notice your body softening into grace.
