Biblical Context
The passage asks whether blessedness comes only to the circumcised, and answers that righteousness was reckoned to Abraham while uncircumcised; it extends to all who believe and walk in that faith.
Neville's Inner Vision
Consider the question as a question of your own inner state. The apostle tells us Abraham was counted righteous before any outward sign; therefore the blessedness is not earned by ritual but ignited by faith in the I AM within. In Neville’s language, circumcision is a symbol of outer forms; the uncircumcised represents a state of consciousness free from appearance. Your present consciousness, when awakened to the truth 'I AM', is the seal of righteousness, the very basis upon which you may claim fatherhood of all who believe. The promise is not to a chosen race of bodies but to the posture of mind that accepts its unity with God. If you walk in the steps of that faith—confident, imaginatively alive, assuming the reality of your complete being—worthiness is attributed to you. This is how you move from conditional hope to assured being: by living from the inner state that already is the outcome you seek.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Tonight, sit quietly and repeat, 'I am righteousness now,' and feel the state as if it already is. Then revise a present situation in your imagination to align with that truth.
