Justified by Faith Inside
Romans 4:5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Righteousness comes to those who do not work for it, but believe in the One who justifies the ungodly.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the reader, the 'ungodly' is not a person but a state of separation from your true I AM. When you refuse to rely on outward works and instead believe in the One who justifies the ungodly, you are not earning righteousness; you are recognizing it as already present. Faith, in this light, is an inner posture of alignment with the I AM, the living awareness that you are always justified by the divine, not by credit from your doings. Your faith is counted as righteousness—meaning your inner conviction becomes the reality you inhabit. In Romans 4:5, God does not demand performance but belief that the inner law of life is love and justice enacted within you. This is the awakening: as you stop striving and start assuming that the grace that justifies you is your natural state, you release fear and step into freedom. The 'him that worketh not' is the mind that ceases to strain and rests in the truth that you are already accepted in God.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the state, saying, 'I am the I AM, justified by grace.' Feel the inner acceptance saturate you until it becomes your lived reality.
