Biblical Context
Romans 4:16-17 says the promise comes by faith, resting in grace for all who share Abraham's faith, not only those under the law. It also presents God as one who quickens the dead and calls things that are not as though they were.
Neville's Inner Vision
All of this is a matter of consciousness. Faith is not a belief about something out there, but an awakened state of the I AM within you. When you read that it is by faith that the promise comes, you are invited to dwell in the consciousness that already has what you seek. The seed of Abraham represents your own faith—not the letter of the law, but the inner trust that God, who quickeneth the dead, calleth those things which be not as though they were. To imagine your life as presently abundant is to participate in the divine cadence: grace follows faith because grace is the natural movement of awareness that believes. The external law fades when you realize you are the author of your experience; your covenant loyalty is to the truth that you are one with the life that resurrects what appears dead. Practice this: in a quiet moment, assume the feeling of your desired state as if it already exists, and hold it until it fills your world. The inner vision is your true kingdom.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the feeling, 'I am the father of many nations,' imagining your life already abundant. Hold that sensation for a few minutes and notice how your outer circumstances begin to align with the inner vision.
