The propitiation spoken of is God's own mercy turned toward your inner self, accomplished not by sacramental distance but by faith in the blood, which is the life-current of your inner reality. When you assume that you are already righteous, you close the door on the old record of sins past; you declare that righteousness is declared in you by the forbearance of God, which is simply God's patience with your habit of forgetting. Your daily experiences become proofs that your inner man has been reconciled to God. The 'blood' signifies the vitality of your awakened consciousness coursing in the body of your life.
