Spain, Jerusalem, and the Inner Blessing

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul plans to travel to Spain and hopes to be refreshed by the Romans' company, then to bring aid collected by the Gentiles for the Jerusalem saints.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within this passage the journey is not geographic but a movement of consciousness. To say, 'I will go to Spain,' is really to admit that the mind expands when I am joined by a friend in faith; every meeting is an unveiling of the I AM drawing form to itself. The Jerusalem collection becomes inner provision—the realization that spiritual riches, when shared, become carnal support. If the Gentiles have partaken of spiritual things, their duty is to minister to them in carnal things in my inner life as well. So the act of giving is a revision of my state, a decision that I am the channel and the source of divine flow. When I imagine I move toward Spain, I am really moving toward fuller consciousness; when I am filled with your company, I am being drawn into the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ. The outer trip mirrors the inner journey: I am already complete, and all provision follows the conviction that I am the I AM, here and now.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the state: I am already the generous provision. See yourself in mental company with the saints, and feel the flow of spiritual riches moving through you as you give and receive.
