Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul says we owe nothing but love; when love becomes our state, the law is fulfilled. He urges awakening to the present salvation, and casting off darkness.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within Romans 13:8-14, the outward commands are a mirror of your inner state. The 'owe no man anything' becomes a declaration that you owe nothing to the old self; love is the currency of your consciousness and when you truly love, you fulfill the law by alignment, not by external performance. The law here is the inner order of your I AM, and to love your neighbor as yourself is to recognize yourself as the same being, connected in awareness. The 'night' and the 'day' signify stages of mind; now is the moment to awake, to recognize that salvation is a present shift of consciousness, not a future event. Cast off the works of darkness—the fear, the habit, the old self-image—and clothe yourself in the armor of light, a steady, unshakable sense of right being. Put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ by identifying with Christ mind, choosing thoughts that bless, and acting in harmony with that light. Do not make provision for the flesh; instead, dwell in the conviction that your true identity already fulfills the law through love.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the present-tense state: I am the I AM loving my neighbor and I fulfill the law now. Feel the inner light widening and carry that perception into the next moment.
