Light Armor for the Inner Day

Romans 13:12-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Romans 13 in context

Scripture Focus

12The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
13Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
Romans 13:12-13

Biblical Context

The verse urges leaving behind darkness and moving into the day by choosing a truthful, self-governing life. It calls for honest conduct and freedom from riotous living and envy.

Neville's Inner Vision

Know this: the night is a state of consciousness you still imagine as real, while the day is the awareness you already are. The I AM in you does not wait for a change in circumstances; it calls you to assume the day and walk as the truth you desire. Casting off darkness means revising your inner story until it no longer serves the old life. Put on the armor of light by occupying a present, truthful state: honesty, integrity, and peace become your habitual posture against every urge toward riot, drunkenness, or envy. When you dwell in that light, the old scenes lose their power because you no longer identify with them. You move through your day as the day itself—conscious, luminous, untroubled by external discord. The outer world rearranges to conform to the inner vision only when the inner vision is steady. You are not waiting for light; you are the light you have chosen to wear, and the night dissolves in the certainty of your awakened I AM.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes, feel the day now—your honest, lighter self—standing in the room as if it always belonged there. Revise one recent moment of conflict by declaring, 'I walked in the light, free from envy and strife,' and let that reality sink into your bones.
