Inner Christ, Inner Righteousness

Romans 10:6-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Romans 10 in context

Scripture Focus

6But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
7Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
Romans 10:6-7

Biblical Context

Romans 10:6-7 presents faith as the path to righteousness, not a climb to heaven or a descent into the dead. The Christ within is already present here and now.

Neville's Inner Vision

Your righteousness is not a stair you must climb nor a distant event you must awaken. The righteousness which is of faith speaks in a present tense: do not say in your heart, Who shall ascend... for Christ is not coming from above to save you; He is the I AM within, the living awareness you are right now. The ascent and descent are mere performances of the mind, while the stone of your salvation lies in the realization that the kingdom is within. Faith is the unwavering trust in what your inner sight confirms: Christ within me now. When you stand in that truth, your outer life rearranges to reflect it, because you have revised your sense of self to the higher tone of your I AM. You are not reaching up or digging down; you are waking up to who you already are.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, place a hand on your chest, and assume the feeling of the inner Christ as present now, repeating 'Christ within me now' until the I AM floods your awareness.
