17So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 10:17

Biblical Context

Romans 10:17 teaches that faith arises through hearing the word of God; the 'hearing' is an inner listening to the divine message within our consciousness.

Neville's Inner Vision

Faith is not a distant belief gathered from without, but a state you awaken by hearing the Word of God within your own consciousness. The 'hearing' is the act of turning attention to the I AM, the living Word vibrating as your true identity. When you fix your mind on that sentence—'I am that Word'—you are listening to the eternal address that governs your life. This inner hearing aligns your imagination with the desired state, so that feeling and image correspond to the truth you affirm. As you persist, the outer world rearranges to reflect the inner conviction. Remember, faith is trust in the now-present Word; imagine it, assume its reality, and let the feeling of the wish fulfilled settle into your bones. Do not seek measurement or proof; faith grows by the steady practice of hearing and repeating the Word as if it already is.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes for a few minutes and silently repeat a chosen inner word or phrase that states your desired reality as already real (e.g., 'I am the Word in action'). Feel the state as if it is present now and let the belief wash through you.
