Mutual Faith and Inner Gifts

Romans 1:11-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Romans 1 in context

Scripture Focus

11For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;
12That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.
Romans 1:11-12

Biblical Context

Paul longs to visit you to impart a spiritual gift that may establish you. He is comforted by the mutual faith between you.

Neville's Inner Vision

See the scene as a state of consciousness, not a person moving through space. The longing to visit and to impart a gift is the I AM desiring to share itself with another aspect of consciousness. The 'gift' is not a thing to be fetched in the world, but a quality you assume you already possess, and which you recognize the other is also ready to receive. When you hold the idea that you are established in this gift, you set in motion the inner condition that makes demonstration inevitable. The phrase 'mutual faith' points to a shared conviction in the one mind you inhabit—your own. As you imagine, you and your circle are united by the same awareness; you are comforted by their faith as they are by yours, and the two become one act of communion. This inner alignment produces discernment and wisdom because you are no longer chasing outcomes but living from the consciousness that all are already whole and connected.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume you have already imparted the spiritual gift to someone, and that you and they are established in faith together. Feel the comfort flowing between you as a shared state of mind; repeat, 'We are one in Spirit, and our gifts circulate now.'
