Revelation 9:11

Biblical Context

Revelation 9:11 describes a king ruling over a host, identified as the angel of the bottomless pit. His name is Abaddon in Hebrew and Apollyon in Greek.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within your mind, the 'king' that seems to rule others is not a person but a state of consciousness. Abaddon and Apollyon are two tongues for the same inner decree: destruction must govern this life. The bottomless pit is the vast, unreconciled portion of the psyche where such fear would like to linger; it is not outside you, it is a movement of attention you have given power to. When you fear you are ruled, you feed the ruler. When you turn your vision to the I AM—the awareness that you are, now, the creator of your experience—the ruler loses its force and the inner kingdom awakens. The verse invites you to recognize that you are not at the mercy of a distant angel but the master of your own inner weather. The promise hidden in the prophecy is that you may revise the ruler, transform the destroyer into a custodian of renewal, and invite the Kingdom of God to govern your thoughts, feelings, and sensations. In this light, Abaddon becomes a symbol of an old belief you no longer serve, replaced by life, love, and conscious creation.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, breathe, and declare silently: I AM the ruler of this life; Abaddon has no power here. Feel the presence of the Kingdom of God filling every thought and sense.
