Biblical Context
Kept the word of patience yields protection. The verse promises that those who endure in faith are kept from the hour of temptation coming upon the world.
Neville's Inner Vision
Notice that the letter does not threaten you with a future victory apart from your stable state of consciousness. The hour of temptation is not a doom upon you but a suggestion pressing upon the mind of humanity. When you have kept the word of my patience, you have at once aligned with the I AM that already knows; you have refused to yield to the fluctuation of fear, applause, or circumstance. In Neville's terms this is a turning from outer events to inner recognition: the world’s temptations test the believer to revise the scene, not to resist an enemy but to insist on your state of consciousness. To be kept does not mean a place in time but a shift in feeling, a permanent impression that you are under the care of Providence because you have trusted the inner word. Your faith has become a gate through which the divine presence flows, shielding you from the collective suggestion of trial. So, live from the assumption that you are already protected, and the hour will pass as you remain anchored in that truth.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Assume you are already kept from temptation by the word you have kept. Revise a scene where you move through the hour with calm assurance and feel the protection as real.
