Biblical Context
Plain summary: The vision presents the Bride—the Lamb's wife—as an inner, holy state descending into consciousness. Her light, radiant and crystal-clear, signifies divine awareness manifesting.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within this text, the Bride is not a distant city, but your own inner posture of consciousness. 'Having the glory of God' is not a future event, but the claim of I AM here and now—a state in which awareness itself is radiant. The 'great city, the holy Jerusalem' descending from God signifies your inner order returning to its sacred center, the place where thoughts are aligned with God-Self. The light of the Bride, like a jasper stone clear as crystal, is the clarity of perception that sees through illusion, the crystal-clear consciousness that perceives things as they are in truth. To see this is to see that heaven and earth are not separate; they are the conditions of consciousness that you enact by assumption. When you dwell in that assumed state, you are the city whose walls are vitality, whose gates are wisdom, whose radiance is the glory of God. This is not fantasy but the natural movement of awareness returning to its home.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Assume the I AM as your own Bride-state. Imagine the holy city descending into your life and feel its crystal light becoming your reality, now.
