Revelation 21:2-4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Revelation 21 in context

Scripture Focus

2And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Revelation 21:2-4

Biblical Context

John sees the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down as a bride prepared for her husband. God will dwell with people, and He shall be their God; tears, death, sorrow, and pain are gone as the former things pass away.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, the vision is a map of your inner life, not a distant future. The holy city, the new Jerusalem, descending, is the state of consciousness in which you are aligned with the I AM. The Bride, adorned for her Husband, is your awareness made ready for union with God—an inner harmony of will, imagination, and feeling. When the voice proclaims that the tabernacle of God is with men, it is declaring that God is now present as your immediate awareness; He will dwell with you, and you shall be His people. The wiping away of tears and the end of death and pain signal a transformation of feeling: the old separation is dissolved in a present sense of life, love, and fulfillment. This is not future event but current perception—a new creation sprouting within your own consciousness. You are invited to see yourself as the city and the bride, hosting the Divine Presence in every breath and thought. The former things pass away as you assume, feel, and dwell in the truth that God is with you here and now.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume you are the dwelling place of God; imagine the holy city descending into your life and you walking its streets as the Bride of the One. Feel it now—an unshakable sense that God is with you, wiping away tears of fear, as the former things pass away.
