Revelation 20:1-2

Biblical Context

The vision shows an angel with a key and a chain binding the dragon for a thousand years. This signifies liberation from old, binding thoughts within the mind.

Neville's Inner Vision

Let the dragon stand for the ancient belief that you are apart from your source, a fearsome image that seems to rule your days. The angel with the key and the chain is your true I AM, descending into the bottomless pit of imagination and turning the key toward illumination. The chain is not punishment but a discipline of attention: by choosing to regard that dragon as rendered harmless through recognition of your oneness, you bind it. The thousand years represent the time you have allowed a belief to govern your life; but in the instant you acknowledge that God is within, time loosens and the scene changes. When you feel the binding as real in your chest—yet surprisingly light in your awareness—you discover that liberation is a shift of consciousness, not a change of scenery. The outer events in your life echo this inner rearrangement; as you insist on the truth that I AM is the source of all you experience, the dragon's grip relaxes and a new kingdom reveals itself, here and now, within the breath of your own awareness.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and declare, 'I am free now.' Feel the chain as the inner I AM binding fear, and dwell in that liberty for a minute.
