Inner Judgment, Outer Return
Revelation 18:6-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Revelation 18 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage describes reward according to deeds of idolatry and self-exaltation, with plagues and destruction coming quickly. In Neville's view, these are states of consciousness and inner movements rather than external events.
Neville's Inner Vision
Know then that the 'Reward her' and the 'double' are nothing but law within your consciousness. The queen of Babylon in this verse is your self-image that glories in separation, wealth as status, and outward worship. She fills a cup with thoughts of dominance and possession; when you identify with such thoughts, you drink their bitter return—the torments forecast as death, mourning, and famine in your life. Yet the Lord God who judges her is the I AM within you, the constant awareness that witnesses these movements. When you refuse to identify with the idol and instead assume the throne of your true consciousness, you dissolve the idol's power. The double is not punishment but a mirror telling you to revise your mind: allow the old image to fall, and awaken to an abundant, peaceful state you already are. The sudden judgment in one day is the moment you stop feeding the old idol and bless her with your attention until she dissolves into light.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and revise the self-image by declaring, I AM the Lord of my consciousness. See the 'cup' of current wealth or status being filled with true abundance from within and feel it as real now.
