Biblical Context
The passage proclaims that what is sown returns in kind, even doubling the measure. The proud, self-glorifying state will meet sorrow.
Neville's Inner Vision
Your inner landscape is the stage where this judgment plays out. The line to reward her even as she rewarded you invites you to own the light or the shadow you have been feeding in your own mind, not as punishment from outside, but as a corrective motion of consciousness. Double unto her double according to her works is the inner arithmetic: when you invest a thought with strong belief, its returning current multiplies your felt reality, and you experience the consequence as an inner weather system. The cup she hath filled is the cup you carry, your meanings about yourself and your world. If you fill it with arrogance and self-importance, it will overflow with torment; if you perceive your life as governed by your I AM, the imagined cup returns as clarity and balance. The boastful claim I sit a queen points to a deceived sense of self; when you drop that story and align with the I AM as your permanent, unshakable presence, you erase the illusion of separateness. The remedy is your practice: assume the revised state now, feel it real, and watch events reflect the inner justice of your own true being, the I AM.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly and assume the state, 'I AM the ruler of my inner city; the events I witness answer to my I AM.' Then revise the story with, 'The queenly self is dissolved; my inner kingdom now rests in justice as I feel it real.'
