Read Revelation 17 in context

Scripture Focus

7And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.
8The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
Revelation 17:7-8

Biblical Context

It presents a mystery about a woman and a beast, whose fate reveals inner states of consciousness. The earth’s marveling contrasts with those written in the book of life.

Neville's Inner Vision

To the eye, the beast with seven heads and ten horns may seem to rule the world; yet in the inner economy, such figures are only currents of thought. 'The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend' is a map of the mind: 'was' is a past fear, 'is not' a present permission, 'shall ascend' a belief rising from depth into outward form through a new assumption. Those who marvel at appearances are earth-dwellers; those whose names are written in the book of life from the foundation of the world are the I AM awake in you. The mystery is that the beast and the woman symbolize a single consciousness, the play of desire and resistance formed by attention. When you claim the I AM as your true being, you alter how you see, and perception reorganizes itself. Redemption comes not by fleeing prophecy but by reviving the inner state from which it arises.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and declare I AM the living presence now. In a short visualization, watch the beast dissolve into light and reaffirm that you are the I AM, already redeemed.
