Kings and the Wine Within
Revelation 17:2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Revelation 17 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Rulers align with a corrupt power. The people are intoxicated by the wine of that allegiance.
Neville's Inner Vision
All scripture speaks as states of consciousness. The 'kings of the earth' are not distant rulers; they are the mind-positions you have allowed to sit on the throne of your awareness. The 'wine of her fornication' is the belief that power resides outside you, that you must drink the image to be real. Neville's Bible speaks to the transformation you seek: awaken as the I AM, the awareness that you are not a spectator but the creator of every scene. When you imagine from this inner throne, you revise the scene; you do not resist the intoxicating image, you simply refuse its claim by recognizing that consciousness is the only reality. The intoxication dissolves as you settle into the truth that God is within, and the external world becomes a mirror of your inner acceptance. The verse becomes a beacon, urging a true worship that begins and ends in your consciousness. As you persist in this inner stance, the outer kings lose their hold, and what remains is a peaceful, empowered life that no wine can touch.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes, assume the I AM as the only reality, and revise any sense of external power by feeling that you reign within. Hold that inner king for a moment and let the outer scene adjust to reflect your inner sovereignty.
