The Inner Beast and the Eight

Revelation 17:11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Revelation 17 in context

Scripture Focus

11And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
Revelation 17:11

Biblical Context

The verse depicts a beast that was, and is not, now appearing as the eighth from the seven. It symbolizes a recurring inner pattern that dissolves when you align with the I AM.

Neville's Inner Vision

Consider the beast as a state of consciousness you have fed. It was, and is not, yet it returns as the eighth, born from the seven prior beliefs. The eighth is not a new creature but a repeat of the same dream dressed anew, moving toward perdition because you identify with it rather than with your true self. The inner law is simple: you become what you assent to in the silence of the I AM. When you dwell in the awareness, 'I AM,' as your only reality, the beast loses its power; its form dissolves into perdition as you stop feeding it. Do not wage war with it; withdraw your assumption and stand as the observer, and the cycle ends.

Practice This Now

Assume the I AM as your present reality and revise the belief that the beast persists. Feel it real as you witness the eighth dissolve into the light of your true self.
