Inner Fire and Darkness
Revelation 16:8-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Revelation 16 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage describes heat scorching the sun, darkness falling on the beast's seat, and a drying river, testing those who cling to worldly power and resisting repentance.
Neville's Inner Vision
Consider the sun as the focal point of your conscious attention the I AM you the innermost light. When the fourth vial is poured upon the sun heat arises not to punish you but to burn away the old identifications that say I am separate from God or my fate is at the mercy of others. The scorching is the friction of a dying belief. As you hold to the former image you blaspheme the name of God within you because you have forgotten the source of all power. The fifth vial bringing darkness into the beast's kingdom marks the collapse of the egoic picture that your worth is defined by outward authority. In that darkness you experience pain and a gnawing hunger for old comforts yet this is the precise territory where you may revise your premise. The sixth vial drying the Euphrates clears a path for the kings of the east new inspirations higher understandings the inner east waking within you. Your job is to rest in the I AM and let the inner light reframe all seeming calamity as energy moving you toward a higher order of being.
Practice This Now
Assume the I AM as your permanent state and feel the inner heat and darkness as energy being reorganized. Then sit quietly and affirm that you are the light that cannot be extinguished until it feels real.
