Biblical Context
The text presents spirits of deception moving through powers to rally the earth to a great battle, while the call to watchfulness and readiness stands.
Neville's Inner Vision
The three unclean spirits are not external forces; they are the three habitual states of mind—fear, desire to control, and self-judgment—that speak as miracles from within. When you assent to these thoughts, you are drawn into the world’s great battle, the Armageddon, because you gather your energies to that drama. The great day of God Almighty is not a future catastrophe but the moment you realize that your awareness, your I AM, is unaffected by appearances. The words Behold, I come as a thief signify the sudden awakening that you are the witness, not the story. By remaining watchful and keeping your garments—your steady, coherent sense of self—you disarm the illusion that you are exposed. The spirits operate through suggestion; you invert them by presuming the reality of your inner sovereignty and the sufficiency of your present consciousness. In that turning, Armageddon dissolves into a quiet, radiant inner state where the kingdom within is already established.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit, breathe, and assume I am the watcher of my mind. Revise the belief that I am at the mercy of events, and feel the secure I AM, then imagine the three spirits dissolving into quiet light.
