Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
John sees a heavenly sign: seven angels with the last plagues, and those who conquered stand on a sea of glass with harps, singing of God's mighty works and ways. The temple opens as the plagues are prepared and the glory fills the space.
Neville's Inner Vision
Everything here is a map of inner life. The seven angels are seven currents of awareness; the last plagues are the final purifications of the ego. The sea of glass mingled with fire is the boundary where clear consciousness meets the furnace of transformation. Those who have conquered the beast, its image, and its number stand on this sea with harps of God, learning to hear the music of truth when pressure rises. Their song, 'Great and marvellous are thy works... just and true are thy ways,' is the inner verdict that your every act is holy and that all nations come to worship by your inner law. The temple opening signals your mind’s sanctuary revealing itself to you; the smoke of glory is the awe and power of God filling your awareness. The plagues are not external judgments but the necessary cleansing that makes your temple invincible. And until those inner purifications are complete, entry to higher states remains guarded by your readiness.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine standing on the sea of glass, harps in your hands, declaring 'Great and marvellous are thy works'—feel fear dissolve as holiness becomes your lived reality. Assume you are already in the temple of your mind, letting the open sanctuary symbolize your awareness and the purifying fire refine your thoughts.
