Biblical Context
In this vision, angels harvest the earth’s ripe vines with a sharp sickle and cast them into the great winepress of God’s wrath. The flow of blood to the horse bridles signifies the formidable reach of divine judgment.
Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed through the I AM, the vineyard is your mind, and the vine of the earth is the habitual thinking that has ripened in your attention. The sharp sickle is your decisive choice to cut away what no longer serves your divine pattern. The two angels—one from the temple and one from the altar—represent faculties within consciousness, the temple signifying inward sanctuary and the altar the fire of desire burning away illusion. When you cry out to the operator of your life to thrust in the sickle, you acknowledge that certain thoughts have reached their ripe season and must be reabsorbed into the light of awareness. The winepress is not punishment but inner processing: the pressure of awareness transfigures the energy of judgment into a clear perception of truth. The blood flowing to the horse bridles marks the thorough cleansing of stray beliefs, leaving your mind clean enough to bear the firm imprint of your I AM. The result is not wrath upon others but a transformed inner climate in alignment with divine order.
Practice This Now
Assume the I AM now; feel the inner thoughts and emotions being pressed into clear truth. See the mind's vineyard as ripe, and let the pressure of awareness transmute turmoil into inner order.
