Inner War in the Sky

Revelation 12:5-10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Revelation 12 in context

Scripture Focus

5And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
6And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
7And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
Revelation 12:5-10

Biblical Context

Revelation 12:5-10 presents the Christ-child’s sovereign rule and the vision of celestial warfare. It invites us to see these events as movements within consciousness rather than external facts.

Neville's Inner Vision

That which John sees as a child who will rule nations is your highest idea of truth taking command in your inner world. The rod of iron is the unwavering authority of imagination, not a sword pressed upon others but a ruling of your own consciousness. 'Caught up unto God, and to his throne' is your awareness rising above the chatter of sense and fear, entering the throne-room where you know you are already whole. The wilderness where the woman hides is the place in you where God has prepared nourishment—your imaginal acts—to sustain you for chosen days of testing. The war in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting, is the clash between old beliefs and the higher reality you claim in feeling and assumption. When the dragon and his angels are cast out, the old dream of separation falls away and salvation, strength, and the kingdom become your present conditions. Your imagination is the rod of iron by which you govern every thought, every circumstance, until the accuser speaks no more and you dwell in the certainty of Christ within.

Practice This Now

Imaginatively, close your eyes and declare: I AM the ruler of my world; feel the iron assurance within. Step into the throne of consciousness and let the dragon of doubt be cast out.
