Wings Of Inner Flight

Revelation 12:13-17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Revelation 12 in context

Scripture Focus

13And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
14And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
15And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
16And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
17And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 12:13-17

Biblical Context

After the dragon is cast to earth, he persecutes the woman who bore the man child; she flees into the wilderness with two wings, the flood he casts out is swallowed by the earth, and the dragon goes to war with the remnant who keep God's commandments and bear testimony.

Neville's Inner Vision

To the reader of consciousness, the dragon is the inner wind of fear resisting the birth of a higher state within you. The woman is your awakened awareness, newly pregnant with the Christ-born life that obeys God. The two wings of a great eagle symbolize your capacity to rise above the surface appearances and withdraw into the wilderness—the steady place in which your true nourishment occurs for a season. The flood is the flood of doubt that pours from fear, meant to carry you away from your center; the earth swallowing the flood is the inner ground of being that, through unwavering attention to the I AM, consumes worry and returns you to balance. The dragon's war with the remnant shows that the old self will resist when you advance; perseverance and steadfast obedience are required. The practical secret is this: dwell in the consciousness of I AM, assume the end you desire, and feel it real until your outer world aligns with your inner state. In that act, your external scene bends to your upward birth as surely as earth swallows flood.

Practice This Now

Assume the end: you are nourished, safe, and free in your inner wilderness. Feel the wings lift you as you dwell in the I AM, allowing the flood of fear to be swallowed by your steady ground.
